CCA of Hong Kong revealed plans to relaunch Brocket Hall as a hotel and conference centre to rival Cliveden, near Cookham, Berkshire.
It plans to build a second 18-hole golf course on the 216.11ha (534 acre) estate, outside Welwyn, in Hertfordshire. Proposals include a health spa, with a gymnasium and pool and an extensive restoration of the existing listed house, now used as a conference centre. The new hotel conference centre would have about 60 rooms.
CCA is believed to have paid £9m for the 60-year lease last month. Its plans are still subject to planning consent from Hertfordshire County Council.
