Innisfree allocates funds to invest in £500m worth of PFI schemes

Innisfree PFI Fund proposes to invest £17m in two Private Finance Initiatives worth £235m. One is to build a motorway between Carlisle and Milbank in Scotland and the other, the £190m Norfolk and Norwich hospital.

The hospital and motorway schemes are part of £500m worth of project support investments in which it has got involved. Others include a £3m investment in a £40m waste-to-energy plant in Stoke-on-Trent and another £4.5m on similar schemes at Dudley and Wolverhampton in the Midlands.

Innisfree is a private equity fund established to invest in projects promoted under the PFI. Funds are expected to offer outlets for construction companies and others which provide seedcorn equity in a project’s early stages but may wish to sell their stakes once up and running.
