A futuristic riverside concert hall and conference centre opens in Belfast today. The £32m circular Waterfront Hall is part of a £140m effort to regenerate the city. This comprises a plan to redevelop Belfast’s docks and harbour area overseen by Langanside Corporation. George Mackey, Langanside chief executive, believes private investment could top £500m by 2000.
