Another 14 miles of dual carriagaeway is to be constructed on the A30/A303 from Honiton, Devon, to Ilminster, Somerset. Friends of the Earth slammed the expansion of a scheme which has already been delayed by tunnelling protesters.
Meanwhile three people remained underground at Fairmile, Devon, despite a partial cave-in.
