Prospects for Chelsfield brightened when state funding was secured for a road scheme near its proposed £,100m Merry Hill regional shopping centre extension at Dudley, West Midlands.
Road improvements were a condition of planning permission for the 41,805 sq m (450,000 sq ft) extension. The Environment Secretary is due to receive the public inquiry report soon.
