A key retail redevelopment site in Castle Bromwich, East Birmingham, is set to come to the market following an application to demolish the existing shopping centre.
Castle Vale Housing Action Trust has submitted an outline planning application for a 12,077 sq m (130,000 sq ft) shopping centre on land opposite the Jaguar works on Chester Road.
The Trust, set up three years ago to push forward the regeneration the 1960s Castle Vale Estate, has appointed Grimley and Jordan Salata Asset Management to find a developer for the planned scheme.
Proposals include an 7,617 sq m (82,000 sq ft) food store, three 929 sq m (10,000 sq ft) shops, two 232 sq m (2,500 sq ft) units, a restaurant and a petrol filling station.
The joint agents hope to have a shortlist of bidders by May.
