Liverpool-based Walton Group is in negotiations with Queens Moat to buy the Moat House Hotel in Liverpool for an undisclosed sum.
Owner Bill Davies said: “The hotel would be a crucial link for us as it adjoins our existing site at Chavasse Park. We plan to demolish the existing hotel and build a new one for Queens Moat.”
He added: “The hotel would compliment the retail element we are planning for Chavasse Park and would be far superior to anything else Liverpool has to offer.”
Davies went on to say: “The proposed hotel at Princes Dock is a small one. In addition it doesn’t offer conference facilities. Liverpool needs a substantial conference centre and we intend providing one on our site.”
