Ford expected to get government subsidy to keep Halewood open

Ford is expected to get a government subsidy for its plant at Halewood on Merseyside to preserve car production there.

Halewood had been at risk after the company announced in January it would build the new Escort on the Continent. Chairman of Ford Europe Jac Nasser, speaking at the Geneva motor show, said he thought the subsidy would be granted.
