Bhs has acquired a 2,415 sq m (26,000 sq ft) store at the 9,661 sq m (104,000 sq ft) Callendar Square shopping centre, Falkirk, a joint venture between Falkirk Council and the Guinea Property Group.
The 9,661 sq m (104,000 sq ft) scheme is now 78% let and the letting is the first major deal for 12 months. The store, which will have a 21.3m (70ft) frontage to the High Street, opens in October. As part of the deal, it was necessary to relocate Northern Rock Building Society within the centre.
Bryan Duncan, of letting agent Donaldsons, said Callendar Square offered a 30% rental discount to the rival Howgate Centre, where rents are £850.37 per sq m (£79 per sq ft).
- Abbey Life bought the feuhold of the Howgate Centre last month for a rumoured £4.3m on a yield of 6.73%.
