Warner Village Cinemas set to open Wales’ biggest multiplex

Warner Village Cinemas, a joint venture between Warner Bros and Village Roadshow International, is set to open Wales’ biggest multiplex at Castlemore Securities’ Cleppa Lakes leisure park near Newport.

The developer has pre-let the 6,875 sq m (74,000 sq ft), 20-screen cinema on a 25-year lease, at about £131.86 per sq m (£12.25 per sq m). The site is opposite Lucky Goldstar’s microchip factory, close to junction 28 of the M4.

Village Roadshow International’s managing director John Crawford said: “The scheme’s strategic position next to a key motorway junction will enable us to draw on a wide catchment area.”

The cinema is expected to open in June next year. Harvey Spack Field advised Castlemore.
