WDA looks to assemble next phase of 445 acre site at Swansea steelworks

The Welsh Development Agency has started assembling the second and final phase of a 180 ha (445 acre) inward investment site around an old steelworks north west of Swansea.

The development agency and Swansea Council already between them hold the first phase totalling 121 ha (300 acres) including the former British Steel-owned Felindre Tinplate Works. They hope to acquire the remaining 58 ha (145 acres) of surrounding greenfield farmland by the end of next year.

The WDA and Swansea Council intended targeting large-scale industrial occupiers to the site which qualifies for regional selective assistance.

The site is connected to the M4 by a slip road, but the WDA plans to upgrade this once the whole site has been assembled.
