Developer Castle City is looking for new sites in central Birmingham following its failure to secure land at 25 Bennett’s Hill for redevelopment as (3,251sq m) 35,000 sq ft of offices.
Private healthcare company Bupa has now put in a bid to buy Abbey National’s 1,393 sq m (15,000 sq ft) office building on the site for a figure believed to be around £1m. Bupa is thought to be considering a refurbishment of the building.
Ian Cornock, associate director at Colliers Erdman Lewis which is advising Castle City, confirmed that the developer no longer had an interest in 25 Bennett’s Hill.
“We are still looking for sites in Birmingham,” he added. “But it has got to be the right opportunity and we will not build speculatively.”
Fuller Peiser is selling Bennet’s Hill for Abbey National.
