Bill Gates’ Microsoft empire plans to set up a multi-million pound research campus in a joint venture with Cambridge University. The influx of hi-tech industry combined with a 40% growth in population could make Cambridge the boom city of the next century.
The University is also planning a massive expansion on a 60ha (148.26 acre) site to the west of the city – the largest ever building project in Cambridge.
