English Heritage has new plans for Stonehenge, the ancientmonument.
Originally, it was seeking £41m worth of Lottery fundingfor the £44m development of the site estimated to cost£83m in total. Now it is seeking just £23m from theLottery in a development which is expected to cost £44m.
Improvements on the Stonehenge site involve an elaboratevisitor centre for kilometres from the stones and a monorailsystem giving access.
