Bristol has ambitious plans to revitalise its waterside.
The project is called Harbourside and will create an entirelynew centre for culture, education and entertainment. The projectis expected to attract nearly £400m worth of investment. Itcovers 26.7ha (66 acres). English Partnerships, the government’sregeneration agency, is investing £18m in infrastructurework.
The project has secured money from the Millennium Commissionand is seeking additional funding from the Arts Council.

Temple Quay, a 9.3ha (23 acre) site beside Bristol railwaystation, is looking to a bright future.
English Partnerships has bought the site and is spending£7m on site and access work. It is planning, in a venturewith Castlemore Securities, to develop up to 743,200 sq m(800,000 sq ft) of HQ offices plus leisure and retail space. Boththe building society Bristol & West and British Telecom areconsidering it as their HQ.
