Whitbread’s Dome to make Welsh debut at Atlantic Wharf, Cardiff

Whitbread is to operate its first Dome cafe-bar in Wales at Tarmac Richardsons’ 18,580 sq m (200,000 sq ft) Atlantic Wharf multiplex scheme in Cardiff Bay.

It is believed to be paying around £215 per sq m (£20 per sq ft) on a 25 year lease for a 1,207 sq m (13,000 sq ft) unit in the development, which is anchored by a 14-screen UCI cinema.

Bass Leisure is also to operate a 3,251 sq m (35,000 sq ft) bowling alley in Atlantic Wharf, which TRD sold to British Airways Pension Trustees last year.

The development, due for completion in August, is now 75% occupied following the letting of a 464 sq m (5,000 sq ft) unit to a local coffee-shop operator.

Allied Domecq is taking the 1,858 sq m (20,000 sq ft) nightclub unit and only two restaurant units and a 1,858 sq m (20,000 sq ft) family entertainment centre now remain vacant.

Jones Lang Wootton is letting agent on Atlantic Wharf.
