Arlington is close to securing deals to build up to 26,941 sq m (290,000 sq ft) of warehousing at Coventry Business Park, its 140,000 sq m (1.5m sq ft) development on the A45 in Canley.
German company Boyson is tipped to buy 1.6ha (4 acres) for a rumoured £642,451 per ha (£260,000 per acre). The exhaust manufacturer plans to build 3,716 sq m (40,000 sq ft) with scope to expand this to 7,432 sq m (80,000 sq ft).
Scholastic Books is also close to signing up for a 4,645 sq m (50,000 sq ft) design and build unit at £48 per sq m (£4.50 per sq ft) on a 15 year lease.
And another component supplier is also understood to be in negotiations to buy 1.6 ha (4 acres) at a similiar land price to the Boyson deal.
The transactions follow Unipart’s decision last year to build a 26,012 sq m (280,000 sq ft) production plant on 6.3ha (15.5 acres) at the site, which has planning consent for B1, B2 and B8.
Grimley and Strutt & Parker are letting agents for the scheme.
