Local developer poised to pre-let 40,000 sq ft office scheme to US plc in south Birmingham

Local developer Stoford Developments is poised to complete a 3,716 sq m (40,000 sq ft) pre-let with American plc, National Cash Registers, in South Birmingham.

Dominic Stokes, director at Stoford, confirmed that the 0.80ha (2 acre) site at Hatchford Brook was under offer but would not reveal the potential tenant. He said: “It is under offer and at the contract stage but I cannot comment further.”

Stoford acquired a 150 year lease on the land, the first phase of a 3.49ha (8.6 acre) site owned by Birmingham City Council, for around £1m.

The second phase will be opened up for development once the council has improved access to the site with the aid of £750,000 which was awarded by the European Regional Development Fund.

Richard Ellis is advising National Cash Registers.
