Allied Leisure is expanding its Burger King restaurants empire with the £2.3m purchase of six more outlets, the company has announced. All the new restaurants are in Yorkshire and together they made an operating profit of about £450,000 in the last financial year.
The acquisition, from the receivers of J&H Kyrris, takes the total number of Burger King restaurants run by Allied Leisure to 14 and follows its move into the burger market in May. Allied’s managing director Neil Goulden claimed that the restaurants bought in May were showing a like for like growth of 16% in the first 16 weeks of the year.
