Tricon is planning to close down about 35 of its 360-strong chain of restaurants in the UK. These will include some of its Pizza Hut, KFC and Taco Bell brands.
Tricon is the world’s largest restaurant group with around 20,000 outlets. It is planning a restructuring which will mean a £300m charge is taken against profits.
Many of its UK restaurants are believed to be on marginal sites and in need of refurbishment.
