The Commons Public Accounts Committee has denounced the privatisation of Belfast Airport. The airport was originally the subject of a management buyout for £32.8m in July 1994 but was sold two years later to TBI Group for £107m.
The Committee found it “outrageous” that a public asset had been acquired privately without obligation to return any profits made to the taxpayer.
