Licensed and leisure operator Scottish & Newcastle has signed up to take 2,787 sq m (30,000 sq ft) in Richardson’s £75m Starcity development in the West Midlands.
The scheme, which will be anchored by one of the largest multiplexes in Europe, is located on a 10.11ha (25 acre) site by Spaghetti Junction near Birmingham.
S&N plans to operate four bars and restaurants at the 32,515 sq m (350,000 sq ft) Starcity scheme as part of a £500m expansion programme. Last month First Leisure announced it would operate its first UK family entertainment centre – featuring a 28-lane bowling alley – outside of London on the site.
“Scottish & Newcastle Retail’s decision to support Starcity is indicative of the fact that the scheme is being backed by some of the most impressive names in the leisure sector,” said Lee Richardson, director of Richardson Developments.
