Parisa boss calls for probe into Thresher/Victoria Wine merger

Parisa off-licence chain boss Nader Haghighi has called for the Monopolies and Mergers Commission to investigate the proposed merger between the rival stores of Allied Domecq and Whitbread.

The two groups would have 2,958 off-licences between them. Parisa has 480.

Allied’s Victoria Wine and Whitbread’s Thresher chain, both of which operate a variety of fascias, announced merger terms last week.
