Alfred McAlpine has agreed to sell its US aggregates and civil engineering businesses for $122.5m (£72.9m) to Hanson.
The sale completes a disposal programme which McAlpine began in 1996.
This has converted it into a business mainly focused on UK housebuilding and construction.
