Slough plans spec scheme for Southampton

Slough Estates is considering a speculative industrial scheme in Southampton, following its purchase of the final 4.71ha (11.65 acre) development site on the Southern Cross Distribution Park from Spen Hill for £5.85m.

The site, which is on the Nursling Estate, already features a recently completed 2,322 sq m (25,000 sq ft) building – pre-let to Surridge Dawson Ltd – and has capacity for a further 18,580 sq m (200,000 sq ft) of warehousing.

Derek Wilson, Chief Executive of Slough Estates, said: “The Nursling Estate is perceived to be the premier industrial/warehousing location along the M27 corridor and the purchase continues Slough’s strategy of acquiring development sites in prime business centres that benefit from excellent communications.”

The Estate is adjacent to Junction 3 of the M27 and is linked to both Southampton Docks and the city centre, which is some two miles away.
