Strutt & Parker injuncts two former partners

Strutt & Parker has taken out a High Court injunction against two former partners.

The order bans Rupert West and Stephen King, both of whom resigned from Strutt & Parker earlier this year, from working for other agents within a five-mile radius of the firm’s branch office in Market Harborough, Leicestershire until April 1999. It also stops them from working for any Strutt & Parker clients or customers with whom they had personal contact.

James Laing, head of Strutt & Parker’s rural division, says the two salaried partners resigned and have not joined any of the firm’s existing rivals. It is thought they were considering setting up on their own.

According to Laing, the injunction expired on November 9, at which point West and King signed a consent order agreeing to comply with the restrictions.

Strutt & Parker has over 130 partners nationwide, of whom 36 have equity in the firm.

West and King were not available for comment.
