Glenda Jackson, shipping minister, fears Many of Britain’s largest trust ports are in danger of insolvency.
She has ordered an audit of publicly-owned trust ports to identify those that are on the danger list.
Mo Mowlam, Northern Ireland Secretary, is delaying plans to privatise the Port of Belfast. The sale is expected to raise up to £100m.
