Knight Frank’s Birmingham chief resigns

Charles Smith, head of Knight Frank’s first office in Birmingham, has left the firm only 14 months after joining from Lambert Smith Hampton.

A spokesman for Knight Frank would not comment but according to sources in the local market, Smith resigned after a disagreement with partners in London over ‘where the business was going’.

Smith headed up Lambert Smith Hampton’s industrial agency team in the city before joining Knight Frank in October last year as the firm led a wave of agents opening in the city for the first time. In the past year, Drivers Jonas and FPD Savills have also opened offices in Birmingham.

Investment partner Andrew Brazier and William Martin, KF’s residential partner in Birmingham, are currently heading up the office until a replacement for Smith is found.
