Alaska Estates has submitted outline plans for a 84ha (34 acre) business park fronting the A5 ring road in Shrewsbury.
The £30m first phase will provide 14,860 sq m (160,000 sq ft) of offices on just under half the site. Alaska wants to build two-storey, low density offices from 929 sq m to 4,645 sq m (10,000 sq ft to 50,000 sq ft) with rents in excess of £129 per sq m (£12 per sq ft).
According to Alaska’s managing director, Alan Hay, the company wants to attract inward investment to Shrewsbury. Hay claims to be in talks with occupiers to take over 5,000 sq m (54,000 sq ft ) of floorspace.
The company is yet to appoint letting agents for the scheme.
