Plan to save London buildings and Tube from flooding

A £10m project has been drawn up to save London’s buildings and Underground from flooding.

The network of 50 boreholes to siphon off rising groundwater has been devised by organisations including Thames Water, the Environment Agency and the Association of British Insurers.

It could become a blueprint for other cities such as Birmingham and Manchester.
