A Birmingham-based automotive team at Pricewaterhouse Coopers has criticised the government’s conditions it wants to tie to state assistance for the Rover Longbridge plant.
The government wants to link improvements in productivity and skills to the state help available.
However, hints have been made that Stephen Byers, trade and industry secretary, is prepared to increase an initial £118m offer.
