Richard Branson is planning a £300m expansion of his Virgin Cinema chain into Japan, America and Ireland.
Japan, the second biggest market in the world, will see 20 new Virgin cinemas and about 12 in America. Ireland is earmarked for up to three venues.
The group will not attempt to build megaplex cinemas with up to 30 screens.
