BMW’s management board has accepted in principle the government’s £150m aid offer to help save the Rover plant at Longbridge, Birmingham.
The acceptance should help facilitate a £1.7bn investment in the plant. Other aid sources should take financial help to £200m.
Final approval from both the management and supervisory boards is expected in the next few weeks.
