The long-awaited £150m government aid package to save Rover’s Longbridge plant and 50,000 Midlands jobs has not yet been finalised. BMW executives are now unlikely to be able to confirm the deal at the company’s annual meeting on Tuesday.
The delay will raise renewed fears that the complex package has run into new problems.
