ProLogis Kingspark is to speculatively build up to 3,716 sq m (40,000 sq ft) of office and industrial space at its Ashby Park scheme in Leicestershire.
The US-backed company is committed to construction of 2,322 sq m (25,000 sq ft) of offices and a 1,114 sq m (12,000 sq ft) factory unit after letting over 9,290 sq m (100,000 sq ft) of office and production space to two local occupiers. Nottingham-based mail order company Novarra and marketing firm Alcone have prelet 4,923 sq m (53,000 sq ft) of offices and a 5,156 sq m (55,500 sq ft) production facility respectively.
Paul Marlow of joint letting agent Lambert Smith Hampton said the success of the scheme had led the developer to commit to speculative development. “Ashby Park is now well and truly on the map,” he said. “As a result its developers are prepared to build speculatively to ensure they don’t miss out on any footloose enquiries.”
In total, Ashby Park covers some 16.18ha (40 acres) and is located at junction 13 of the A42(M).
LSH is joined by Mather Jamie and North Rae Sanders as letting agents on the business park.
