DTZ Debenham Thorpe director Mark Tyrrell has become the second Bristol office agent to join a developer in recent weeks after resigning to go to the student accommodation specialist Unite.
Only two weeks ago it was announced that Andrew Maltby of Hartnell Taylor Cook is joining Deeley Freed, another Bristol-based developer.
Tyrrell will be joining the Unite Group as UK acquisitions director to spearhead its expansion in the South West following its £20m float on the Alternative Investment Market last week. Unite specialises in the student accommodation market and often converts redundant offices into residential.
Peter Kelly, Chairman of DTZ in the South Wales and South West, confirmed that Tyrrell was leaving and revealed that Nigel Webb, a director in DTZ’s Cardiff office, will be transferring to head up the company’s team in Bristol.
Kelly said: “We feel that with our instruction to advise Crest on the development of Harbourside, it will be appropriate to have Nigel there with his expertise in the leisure and retail markets.”
He added that DTZ will be recruiting, at a senior level, for someone in Bristol with B1 agency expertise.
