Motorists driven from £15m new Doncaster dual carriageway

Doncaster council is negotiating with the Highways Agency to fully open the £15m link road between the Yorkshire Outlet shopping centre and the Dome Leisure Park on the outskirts of Doncaster, south Yorkshire.

The Highways Agency has employed a security guard to turn motorists away from the road during peak traffic times because of fears that commuters would use it has a short-cut to dodge snarl-ups.

The council says this is ridiculous and insists the dual carriageway is state-of-the-art and easily able to cope.
