Environment minister Michael Meacher has highlighted the construction sector as one of those lagging behind in environmental responsibility.
But he commended Laing Homes for being ahead of competitors.
Other sectors he criticised included the media, information technology and telecoms. He was talking about plans to produce “green league tables” to increase pressure on companies not taking environmental issues seriously,
