Brownfield housing scheme hits traffic obstacle

Taywood Homes’s housing scheme in Kingston Mills, Bradford-upon-Avon, has raised traffic fears in the local community.

The scheme has prompted the Kingston Mill Consultation Group to call for a traffic impact assessment into the development which it feels will lead to an increase in traffic, resulting in a negative impact on the surrounding landscape.

The subsidiary of Taylor Woodrow submitted an application to West Wiltshire District Council on May 21 to provide 80 dwellings, three restaurants, five shops with ancillary office and storage space, as well as a town square on the major brownfield site.

The council’s planning committee is expected to recommend a deferral of the decision on the application at its meeting this week.
