Deputy prime minister John Prescott will have to work hard to ensure the proposed partial privatisation of Britain’s air-traffic control service does not jeopardise his wide-ranging transport Bill, reports The Independent.
The Bill will set up a strategic rail authority and bring in congestion charges in town centres for motorists.
Some MPs are wavering on the air-traffic control sell-off, especially following the Paddington rail disaster, fearful of safety in the skies being put at risk.
