Soros Private Equity Partners has been shortlisted to buy Odeon Cinemas from Rank for more than £300m.
Cinven and BC Partners are also known to have got through to the next round. Clear Channel has also shown interest. A preferred bidder could be selected at the beginning of next year.
Odeon has 470 screens in 75 locations.
