A bidding war is underway for Somerfield’s 350 Kwik Save stores.
Netto Foodstores, Aldi and Lidl are the main contenders for more than 100 of the sites. Blockbuster wants freeholds on about 80.
Somerfield was originally thought to be willing to sell Kwik Save as a going concern to a single buyer for a nominal £1, according to The Mail On Sunday.
