Bristol planners back revised application for Harbourside

Crest Nicholson’s revised application for its £250m mixed-use scheme at Bristol’s Harbourside has received a crucial vote of confidence from local planners.

Bristol council planning officers will advise councillors at a meeting next week that the developers have made ‘significant progress’ with the revised application and will recommend that the scheme goes ahead. They say the new plans achieve ‘many of the planning objectives for Harbourside’.

Crest had to go back to the drawing board last July following widespread fears that the original scheme would block views of Bristol Cathedral. Local campaigners still believe the development is still ‘too large’.
