Argent and Regus in talks on B’ham mixed-use scheme

Argent is understood to be in negotiations with serviced offices giant Regus for a joint venture to build an innovative 8,361 sq m (90,000 sq ft) mixed-use scheme at 8 Brindleyplace in Birmingham.

The £20m development will incorporate both serviced offices and 38 serviced apartments available on short-term leases. The site for the new building is located on Oozells Square, opposite the Ikon Gallery.

Gary Taylor, director of Argent, claims that this is the first mixed-use scheme of its kind in the UK. “The quality and flexibility of office space at 8 Brindleyplace reflects the changing requirements of businesses which need to adapt quickly to a fast-moving and dynamic marketplace. The addition of serviced apartments will underline the appeal of Brindleyplace.”

The scheme also provides conference, meeting room and seminar facilities, as well as a corporate restaurant for residents and staff on the ground floor. Work will start on site in March.
