Wilson Bowden Developments (WBD) has bought the third phase development site at Wakefield 41 business park, near Leeds, from William Morrison Supermarkets.
The 8.5ha (21 acre) site, with a potential end investment value of £26m already has outline consent for over 27,870 sq m (300,000 sq ft) of office, industrial and distribution space.
Proposals include an industrial and distribution element providing around 18,580 sq m (200,000 sq ft), alongside 9,290 sq m (100,000 sq ft) of offices. Units will range in size from 1,670 sq m (18,000 sq ft) to 11,610 sq m (125,000 sq ft).
WB’s Richard Wright said: “We aim to start speculative building as soon as we can and hope to be able to begin construction by March 2000.”
Wakefield 41 is next to junction 41 of the M1, four miles south of Leeds and one junction away from the M1/M62 intersection. Tenants at the earlier phases of the development include Eddie Stobart, Cadbury Schweppes, Barclays Bank and Northern Telecom.
Weatherall Green & Smith represented WB Developments.
