Aroma to open 40 cafes with new design

Coffee chain Aroma plans to more than double its outlets with a rollout programme of 40 new look cafes across the UK this year. Aroma is seeking units of over 111 sq m (1,200 sq ft) in town centre locations as well as in shopping centres.

The company, owned by McDonald’s, presently has 31 cafés in the South East and is opening new stores at the Meadowhall centre near Sheffield, Wrights Lane, off Kensington High Street, and Oxford Street,W1.

David Gerrard, managing director of Aroma, commented: “The café marketplace has never been more competitive and we are keen to grow and consolidate our position as quickly as possible. As well as gaining more outlets, it is imperative that we differentiate those outlets and our brand.”
