Peabody Trust wins consent for £70m West London scheme

Peabody Trust has won planning consent for a £70m mixed use development on a former gas works in west London which has been derelict for more than two decades.

Kensington and Chelsea’s planning committee has given outline permission for the covering 4ha (10 acre) scheme.

As well as 300 homes, the trust has also obtained consent for 17,000 sq m (182,990 sq ft) of commercial space. Proposals include restaurants, bars and high-tech offices, on the canalside site next to the Ladbroke Grove branch of Sainsbury’s.

The CZWG designed development will also feature the largest UK application of solar powered panels, for which the European Union is providing funding.

FPDSavills is Peabody’s consultant for the scheme.
