Duke of Westminster takes up leading RICS role

The Duke of Westminster has agreed to chair the new RICS Research Foundation

The Duke, who is an honorary Member of the RICS, owns the Grosvenor Estate which owns and manages a portfolio of £4.2bn.

Simon Kolesar, president of the RICS, said: ” The new RICS Foundation, launched in January, will benefit from the Duke’s unique combination of business acumen, global property market knowledge and appreciation of the need to raise awareness of built and natural environment issues. His leadership will be invaluable in realising the Foundation’s objective of making world-class research available to all who need it.”

The Duke said: “It was a real pleasure to be asked to chair the new Foundation.

“I am looking forward to supporting and developing this further.”
