Inntrepreneur must wait for appeal judgment

The Court of Appeal reserved judgment today in the case of Inntrepreneur Estates Ltd v Hollard, in which Inntrepreneur is challenging an award of over £90,000 made against it by the High Court in November 1999.

Inntrepreneur initially sued Brian and Alison Hollard, former licensees of the Angel Public House in Poole, for £12,000 arrears of rent. However, the Hollards counterclaimed that they had suffered loss after being induced to enter into the lease by misleading indications given by Inntrepreneur as to beer sales at the pub. The High Court allowed the counterclaim, and awarded the sum under challenge.
