Berkeley Homes has won consent for the redevelopment of the derelict Ropetackle site at Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, as a £20m housing and leisure scheme, writes Andrew White.
South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) bought the redundant 2.02ha (five acres) site in January to kick-start the Shoreham Maritime Strategic Study.
Alisdair Chant, managing director of Berkeley Homes, said: “We are delighted to demonstrate our commitment to holistic regeneration in Shoreham and to work in partnership with SEEDA.”
Work on the scheme is due to begin in Spring 2001.
